This is Curse Boy

This is Curse Boy - by JL

Everyone, I’d like you to meet a special friend of mine. This is Curse Boy. He is the all-knowing centre of my wisdom and knowledge lurking deep in my subconscious mind. He comes out to play in my bouts of insomnia spurred on by the ridiculous deadlines of the waking world and caffine highs – he talks to me when I’m alone at night when all the little lights of reading lamps go out.

His precious titbits of meat-intellect can save the world from catastrophe. Listen and you will be spared the curse of Curse Boy. (He has no pupils – the Dark of Night ate them and now he gropes blindly in the recesses of my detached mind).

TODAY: Curse Boy says “Don’t Kill Students”. He is very wise.

Two French students were found dead in a London appartment today. They were stabbed over 200 times and, yes, suffered some injuries, of which death was probably the least painful.

An accursed world indeed. The stupid kill the intelligent in this rat eat dog world. The injustice of one person taking the life of another is only surmounted by the perpetrators’ audacity to do so. It disgusts me that some people’s reality allows for such a God-complex, when such an act makes them less than human.

In this bout of insomnia, I have read of two boys my age, being brutally attacked in what has been dubbed a “frenzy”, and I can’t get my mind off the macabre long enough to work. For this and other grotesqueries I introduce Curse Boy: the voice of disappointment over the repulsive potential of human kind to do evil.

CB: “Don’t kill students”.
